Cantina sociale dei Settecani wine and food tour in Modena
A tasting of Lambrusco di Grasparossa di Castelvetro D.O.P, the Modenese sparkling wine that everyone likes.
The social way of the early 1900s, when just 43 families decided to bring their grapes together to create something more, quality, control and collaboration: this is how the Cantina dei Settecani was born.
90 years of activity and hard work together with the search for innovation have made it possible for a group of farming families to create a colossus: A company that now counts 200 wine-growing families, 40 thousand quintals of grapes delivered and 1 million bottles sold.
Despite this, the environment remains fresh and peasant, they continue to work and produce: they look at the glass half full they probably would say.
It takes time to become young, is one of the mottos of the winery that produces mainly Lambrusco di Grasparossa di Castelvetro which is the undisputed vine king of the area, the hills around the Cantina di Settecani.
In short, we wish you to get lost, wander among the wineries of Castelvetro and its surroundings, meet and admire on your way some Ferraris, which you will certainly not fail to see, but especially the views: beautiful hills and countryside, vines climbed between the ups and downs between landscapes to discover.
Here, almost certainly you have seen without realizing some of the winemakers who sell their grapes to the Cantina dei Settecani.
The dedication and commitment of the winery, which for over 90 years has been deciding on winemaking and techniques together with its members, has been rewarded with several awards, in recent years we can mention some such as:
MERUM Diploma for Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Secco DOP
Silver Medal Diploma for Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Amabile DOP
Grand Gold Medal International Wine Competition "Vinitaly 2008"

Although what they are most proud of is certainly the V.I.V.A. Certification.
(Assessment of the Impact of Viticulture on the Environment)
Very difficult and long to obtain, it controls the entire production chain from the land to irrigation, to the vineyards and the final product, determines that those who obtain it produce wine TOTALLY eco-sustainable, in practice does not cause any damage to the soil, of any kind.
You can go with us on guided tours of the area to taste their wines or reach them or do it yourself, they are always open to receive and tell their story and of course to make you taste a good glass of Lambrusco.
During our days between Ferrari, Caseifici, and Acetaie, if you are also interested in trying good wine, we will certainly propose a visit to the Cantina Sociale di Settecani.
